Good progress

Some good progress to report since my last post, but it is mainly due to the long time since my last post rather than any particular dedication.   I've got some new medication, it's good, i'm getting on well with it, but one totally unexpected side effect is that it has reduced my stitching productivity.  I just don't seem to have the same insane urges to stitch 24 hrs a day, just 1 or 2 hours seems to satisfy me.  As it's unlikely my doctor will change my meds sinply because my stitch rate has dropped slightly I guess I'll just have to learn to cope!!

Starting off with Sacred Cranes.......

Before..........

After..........

Some details.......

Now Stargazer latest............

And finally little Ransom and I playing in his field.  I've got him doing all sorts of tricks and he's learning to long rein so he can pull his little carridge soon.  Ecxiting times :-D

I'm going to stitch for a week or two on Maggy now.

February IHSW

Not my best ever IHSW but very enjoyable, I spent quite a bit of time out of the house this weekend getting back to a bit of normal life so the stitching suffered a bit but I still managed to get the mottom part of Stargazers skirt finished up  :-D

I hope that your hermitting was fabulous fellow hermiters xxx

Long time WIP

I've really got to have a good sort out at some point.  My stitching and my blog; everything needs a good update!  I haven't stopped stitching though, infact I've managed quite a lot.

This is Gold which is a project I started years ago.  It is one of a set of three designs from Anchor based on Lesley Anne Ivory cats.  I already finished one which I gave to my Mum and I always intended to get the other two done to complete the set but I stalled and this project got shoved under the bed for two years.  I dug it out and I'm going to finish it up :-)

When it came out from under the bed.........

Now...........

I also stitched this gorgous heart designed by Abi Gurden for valentines day, check out the Stitch Specialists group foe info.  It is the first bit of hardanger I've gone but Abi was extreemly helpful and answered all my questions and provided lots of help.  Thank you Abi!!   I chose to stitch my heart on 32ct amber linen, Bohemian Tryst silk from the Thread Gatherer, some metalic madeira perle and white dmc and mill hill seed beads.

Now I'm finishing up my chicken giveaway ornaments, so watch this space :-)

I think with this huge HAED I'm officially allowed to celebrate every page finish with a small Happy Dance!  This is page 1 done.  I think I'll move straight onto page 2.  I'm really enjoying my stitching :-)

Maggy update and whos this??

This is my latest Maggy.  If I'm right this weekend is hermit up and stitch so I'm going to try to finish this page up.  Check out the hermit and stitch link on the right if you still don't hermit....

And this is something a little bit different.  For my birthday one of my gifts was some wool, a needle felting book and a few needles.  I've tried out a few models, this is the Bumpy Dog!  There is some incredible work on the tinternet from superb needle felt artists, I'm just working on the basics :-)  This actually looks a bit better in real life.

Maggy, spot the progress

Over Christmas I stitched a lot on my HAED Maggy and I'm really pleased with my progress, although it's still impossible to really make anything out of the picture so far.  I'm enjoying stitching this a lot.  I'm trying to get it started all the way across the top section so I can start rolling it up over the scroll frames.  I've made it a comfort blanket out of some batting to roll up with her with but I need some progress to roll!

There is a huge amount of confetti in virtually the whole design, and I still have it at the back of my mind that I may have over stretched myself with this but I try to keep reminding myself that its only just one stitch at a time;  slowly slowly catchy monkey.

I've experimented a bit with carrying my threads and I'm coming along with this concept.  I just have to stop myself getting worked up over the mess on the back!  It doesn't matter if the back is messy as she will come stright off the scrolls into a frame when she is done.

I'm going to try to get my stitching organised this weekend and come up with a plan.  I've been struggling to plan stuff lately and I've allowed myself to stitch in chaos!  Must get this sorted before it affect my mojo.  Despite a small personal crisis my stictching mojo has miraculously survived and I'm guarding it jelously!!

Oh and did I tell you about my Christmas present???  Nothing stitchy for me this year, but the most special gift from my DH.  This is Hallmarked Mi Kings Ransom who I have been showing and training for the last year for a friend who has a miniature horse stud, who is now my very own and will likely be a very spoilt pony for the rest of his life.  Sorry that its a poor photo, but it does show his lovely fluffy legs!!  I've 'had' him since he was just a few months old and he will never ever be for sale.  This little chap is a keeper, (and the hubby!)
