Despite the horse related crisis I did manage to slot in some stitching on Forest Goddess over Christmas, mainly in half hour bursts between horse repair! Here is my first progress.....
I just adore this fabbie and I'm blown away by the colours in this Mirabilia. Thank you to everybody on Mirabilia stitchers who voted for her when I asked which design I should stitch next. You were right, she is the most amazing design to stitch, my favourite by far.

A Real Christmas Crisis
I have not had the relaxing Christmas I hoped for. My horse has been very poorly and I have almost lived in my stable for the last 4 days. I smell terrible and I dread to think what my vet bill will be for a double Christmas call out. At last some good news though, he is on the mend, although still needs a lot of TLC. And as well as a new laptop I got a bit of stitching stash for Christmas so that cheered me up a lot. I will have a go at the crewel work project later on in the year. Hope you all had a much more relaxing Christmas that me!

A Bonus Treat
This is so cute!! I didn't take any stitching on honeymoon in August, I just took a bag of bits in our wedding colours, which I raided from my stash, left over beads, linen, kreinik and some weeks dye works threads. I didn't stitch a lot but (mainly on the plane) I did most of this little mini wedding sampler which I just made up as I went along.
Wishing you all a joyfull and peaceful Christmas, I hope that all your stockings are brimming with goodies!! XX.
Now I have finished stitching Christmas gifts I had a spare day to think about what to do with it, and I have turned it into a biscornu! (I had to look up the instructions on the web) I love how it has turned out. I thought that you might like to share.

Griffin Happy Dance!!
Part two of my mini Christmas Challenge is finished, and I just love him! I'm a bit sad now to give him away but I know he will be loved in his new home. He was so much fun to stitch. He is the first project I have stitched on a hand dyed and I'm now officially a convert, fabbie is 28Ct Charcoal Slate by Sparklies and it is really sparkly!
Thanks for looking and thank you again for your encouragement when I hit my stitching dip a week or so ago!

Poor ducks!
It is really cold here right now. It said -14C (6F) on my car this morning. I felt quite sorry for these little ducks, they haven't got any water left to swim in, poor ducks!
A bit of ice does make the world beautiful though and I'm now feeling really Christmassy.
The Sparkly Griffin will be ready for you tomorrow, I have 106 stitches left!!

Penny Happy Dance!!
The first part of my Mini Christmas Stitching Challenge is complete.
Here she is, thanks again to everyone who have me a boost!
This was a quick stitch as it was very easy but I think because it wasn't challenging and the colours were very repetitive it wasn't very interesting to stitch and I flagged badly. I really needed and appreciated a bit of encouragement towards the end. She is off to her new home this weekend as we are visiting little Penny and her proud new Mummy and Daddy. Hope they like it.
The Griffin is about 5 days away so I'm cutting it a little fine but I'm enjoying it much more that the sampler.

Brave or Stupid?
After three years of 'Some day soon I will....' I have finally taken the plunge. I have signed up for my first Chatelaine pattern! I have picked Winter Watergarden because I love the blackwork leaves and winter trees. I am quite nervous about attempting it but I am planning on taking it one section at a time and trying to stitch pretty much with the group in case I need some help along the way. I haven't decided how to stitch it yet, I usually use Q snaps but apparently Chats are better on a scroll from which I have never used before. (So it could be a very expensive month!)
I'm still committed to my two gift projects. After the lovely comments left below I have made some good progress and I now hopeful of getting them finished on time,
Thank you Lovely People xxxxx
